Laboratory Manager
The Laboratory Manager is responsible for directing the function of the laboratory, Oversees the performance of a variety of tests and analytical procedures, ensures the quality of all tests results; ensures that all records are properly maintained; performs experimental procedures and suggests changes in established procedures as appropriate and provides liaison with the hospital pathologist (as applicable)Licensure/Certification/Registration: Licensure as a medical technologist through ASCP or NCA to comply with federal standards. Education: Graduate of an accredited school with major in laboratory science or related field. Experience: Three to four years’ experience in a clinical laboratory. Management experience preferred with documentation of ability to plan, supervise, and coordinate activities of personnel. Must have knowledge of technical and management aspects of a clinical laboratory. Understanding of hospital policies and procedures. Knowledge and understanding of role as a health team member.
